Refresh & Renew

Funder:  NSW – Tourism

Grant Background: The NSW Government has announced that $1 million in funding is available in 2020-21, to support the tourism industry in NSW to Refresh and Renew their tourism product to better meet consumer expectations.

Due to COVID-19, many people, who would traditionally travel to overseas destinations for their holiday, will now be travelling domestically to regional NSW destinations. To assist regional NSW tourism businesses to better meet consumer expectations, grants are now available to assist regional NSW tourism operators Refresh and Renew their product.

Eligible applicants include cafes, bars, restaurants, accredited visitor information centres, hotels, motels, caravan parks, visitor attractions, museums, galleries, conference and event centres or facilities. Work could include fresh paint, new curtains, new carpet, new furniture, bedspreads, TVs, beds, upgrades to facilities such as a new reception area, bar, display cabinets, etc.

Grant Background: The Tourism Grants for Indigenous Business funding round aims to increase the number of Indigenous-owned tourism products available in the market. This grant round will support Indigenous-owned tourism businesses and Indigenous-owned community organisations to plan for or grow their new/existing tourism businesses within the tourism sector.

Business Events Boost Programme

Funder:  Tourism Australia

Grant Background: Tourism Australia’s Business Events Boost Program is a domestic partnership program for Australia’s business events industry.

The program provides funding and expertise to industry-led marketing and distribution projects which help restart business events in Australia, to support industry recovery from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Projects must demonstrate the potential to influence domestic decision makers of existing business events or assist in the conversion of new domestic business events. Applications must relate to corporate meetings or incentives, conferences, exhibitions or association meetings.

The Business Events Boost Program will support activity including:

  • Content creation and collateral including video and still photography
  • Marketing assets for domestic bidding and for the conversion of new national events
  • Unique and strategic delegate boosting initiatives
  • Digital marketing activity including social media or website enhancements
  • Communication activity such as direct mail, microsites, public relations activity or editorial coverage
  • Media buy and marketing campaigns with amplification strategies
  • Virtual reality and online site inspections
  • Podcasts and audio interview series
  • Qualified distribution and business development activity
