Boosting Female Founders Initiative

Funder: Federal – Industry

Grant Background: The Boosting Female Founders Initiative program will provide targeted support on a co-contribution basis to female founders of startup businesses to launch and scale their businesses into domestic and global markets.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • stimulate private sector investments into innovative startups led by women
  • help female entrepreneurs overcome the disadvantages they face in getting access to finance and support to grow their startups
  • enable female founders to scale-up, expand into domestic and global markets, and become self-sufficient
  • boost the economy through increasing the diversity of startup founders.

The intended outcomes of the program are:

  • increased number of startups founded by women
  • new products and services are brought to market by startups founded by women
  • increased financial investment in startups founded by women
  • women improve their earning potential through entrepreneurship
  • increased job creation and economic growth.

Package Assisting Small Exporters

Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting applications to apply to deliver activities under the Package Assisting Small Exporters program.

Under the program, grants are available to organisations and individuals for projects that support small exporters in the dairy, fish, eggs, grain, plant, horticulture, meat and animal products industries to overcome barriers to market access.

Grant Background: The Traceability Grants Program provides opportunities for successful applicants to conduct projects that will enhance the supply chain traceability systems and arrangements that support the export of our agricultural commodities.

Landing Pads Program

Funder:  Federal – Austrade

Grant Background: Landing Pads are an initiative of the Australian Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship.

The program will establish Landing Pads within global innovation hubs, including San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Berlin and Singapore.

Australian market-ready startups will have the opportunity to be immersed in an environment that will help them accelerate the design and development of their product or service business model by exploring in-market business development, investment, mentorship and strategic partnership opportunities.

The program will provide successful applicants with a workspace for up to 90 days within an established startup accelerator, giving you the opportunity to work alongside some of the best startup enterprises from around the world and access to an ecosystem of talent, advice and solutions.

You will have access to all the services offered by the accelerator including coaching, introductions to mentors, investors and customers, training opportunities, tailored networking events and state-of-the-art workspace facilities.

An Austrade Landing Pad coordinator based in the market will also provide you with:

  • guidance on identifying and targeting customers
  • advice on how to access angel investors, venture capital and other potential sources of investment
  • introductions to local government agencies offering support programs for new businesses and startups
  • advice on how to leverage networks in the market to meet with peers, decision makers and influencers
  • referrals to professional services and advisory firms
  • advice on how to negotiate the local business culture.

Free Trade Agreement Market Entry Grant

Grant Background: The Free Trade Agreement Market Entry (FTA-ME) Grant provides funding for Australian member-based business organisations (chambers of commerce, business associations, industry associations, bilateral chambers and peak industry bodies), universities and TAFE colleges to deliver market entry strategies aimed at helping Australian SMEs and stakeholders access FTA target markets.

Eligible markets under the FTA-ME Grant include China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru.
