Grant Background: The Investing in Women funding program funds NSW organisations to develop and implement projects that support:

  1. Improve women’s financial wellbeing and security and support diverse and flexible employment opportunities for women and girls
  2. Promote and support a holistic approach to women’s health across the lifespan
  3. Support women’s engagement through social networks, access to information and building confidence using diverse representation of women and girls.

Increasing women’s participation leads to benefits for individuals, families and the community. Advancing the role, status and contribution of women and girls in our communities will grow the talent pool available for the workforce, encourage more diversity and flexibility for women and men in the workplace, and result in increased innovation, productivity and prosperity.

Surf Club Facility Programme

Funder:  NSW – Sport

Grant Background: The Surf Club Facility Programme assists Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout NSW to develop their facilities to increase the usage, safety and participation in Surf Life Saving and at Surf Life Saving facilities used by the general public and/or Surf Life Saving Club members.

Funding is prioritised in line with:

  • The Premier’s Priorities
  • The Office of Sport strategic plan and priorities and
  • Surf Life Saving NSW strategic plan
  • Support for areas affected by severe drought and the 2019/20 bushfires within NSW

Program Objectives:

  • Participation: Increase the usage and/or participant numbers in Surf Life Saving
  • Access:Increase the use of the Surf Life Saving facilities by community groups and/or the general public
  • Safety:Improve safety at Surf Life Saving facilities

Disability, Mental Health and Carers: National Disability Conference Initiative

Funder:  Federal – Department of Social Services

Grant Background:  The Disability, Mental Health and Carers program provides support and community-based initiatives for people with disability or mental illness and for carers so they can develop their capabilities and actively participate in community and economic life.

The objective of this grant opportunity is to provide grants to conference organisers to help people with disability participate in nationally-focused, disability-related, conferences held in Australia.

Grants will support eligible conference organisers to provide accessibility measures that will maximise the inclusion and participation of people with disability at their conference.

The intended outcomes of this grant opportunity that are expected to be achieved by funding conference organisers are:

  • people with disability are provided with greater opportunities to participate in all areas of Australian life by assisting them and their carers with the costs of attending disability related conferences that might otherwise be inaccessible to them
  • greater participation and inclusion of people with disability at nationally-focused, disability-related conferences held in Australia.

Grant Background: In a Good Place is a national grants program that provides support for community-driven initiatives that reduce social isolation, increase social participation and connectedness, and encourage people in rural, regional and remote communities who are at risk of, or are experiencing, mental health issues to seek help.

There are three objectives for this program:

  1. Reduce social isolation;
  2. Increase social participation and connectedness;
  3. Increase help-seeking.

Preference will be given to projects that:

  • Serve communities with populations under 10,000;
  • Are run by and based in the beneficiary community/ies;
  • Respond to specific population mental health and wellbeing issues within a local community;
  • Are sustainable beyond the period of the grant;
  • Can clearly measure and report on project outcomes.
