Surf Club Facility Programme

Funder:  NSW – Sport

Grant Background: The Surf Club Facility Programme assists Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout NSW to develop their facilities to increase the usage, safety and participation in Surf Life Saving and at Surf Life Saving facilities used by the general public and/or Surf Life Saving Club members.

Funding is prioritised in line with:

  • the Premier’s Priorities
  • the Office of Sport Strategic Plan and priorities
  • Surf Life Saving NSW Strategic Plan; and
  • projects that address a community need and demonstrate inclusive design principles.

The key objectives of the Program are:

  • Participation: Increase the usage and/or participant numbers in Surf Life Saving.
  • Access: Increase the use of Surf Life Saving facilities by community groups and/or the public; and
  • Safety: Improve safety at Surf Life Saving facilities.

National Disability Conference Initiative

Funder:  Federal – Department of Social Services

Grant Background:  The Australian Government is inviting applications in an open competitive process to apply for grant funding under the National Disability Conference Initiative (NDCI) 2021-22.

There are two categories of grants available under NDCI in 2021-22:

 Activity Stream 1: Disability Conference Activity (DCA)

The DCA will be a continuation of the existing NDCI program, providing grants of up to $10,000 (GST exclusive) to enable disability conference organisers to maximise the inclusion and participation of people with disability at their conferences.

Activity Stream 2: Mainstream Conference Inclusion Activity (MCIA)

This is a new activity stream to provide grants of up to $10,000 (GST exclusive) to Disabled People’s Organisations or Families Organisations (DPO/FOs) to collaborate with a mainstream conference organiser to ensure conference proceedings include disability issues sessions/keynote address and that the conference is inclusive/accessible to people with disability.

ILC Economic and Community Participation Program – Economic Participation Grant Opportunity

 Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting organisations to apply to deliver services under the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building Program’s Economic Participation (EP) grant opportunity 2020-21.

The aim of the EP grant opportunity is to improve the economic participation of people with disability, particularly in light of the impact of COVID-19.

The expected outcomes for the EP grant opportunity are:

  • People with disability will have improved job readiness, employment related skills and knowledge (whether industry specific or generalist).
  • People with disability and other stakeholders will have increased access to employer groups and employment support networks.
  • Increased willingness and capability of employers and organisations to employ people with disability.

ILC Economic and Community Participation Program – Social and Community Participation Grant

Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting applications from for grant funding for 12-month projects that help enable the participation of people with disability in community life – particularly in arts, culture, sport and recreation activities – as part of the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC)’s Economic and Community Participation Program’s Social and Community Participation (SCP) grant opportunity.

The aim of the SCP grant opportunity is to support people with disability, their families and carers to participate in, contribute to and benefit from community activities. It is part of the Economic and Community Participation Program which connects people with disability to activities, employment and community supports and opportunities, helping communities and employers to be inclusive and responsive to people’s needs locally, and nationally.

Enhancing Country Health Outcomes

Funder:  Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal

 Grant Background:  The Enhancing Country Health Outcomes (ECHO) grant program aims to improve health outcomes for people living in rural, regional and remote Victoria and New South Wales.

The program provides targeted funds for charitable initiatives delivered by not-for-profit organisations that strengthen, improve accessibility and retain quality and contextually appropriate primary health care services in local communities.

Priority will be given to locally driven initiatives, based in rural, regional and remote Victorian and New South Wales communities that:

  1. Improve accessibility and availability of innovative public primary health service delivery that while publicly available, is difficult to access;
  2. Enable communities to attract and retain a multi-disciplinary health workforce,including General Practitioners and allied health workers, through innovative and novel approaches;
  3. Support the rural, regional and remote health workforce in being prepared for living and thriving in their / these communities;
  4. Provide innovative responses to local health needs that are collaborative, integrated and help create systemic change;
  5. Develop and implement evidence-based, best-practice models of care that are affordable, acceptable and appropriate to meeting the primary health care needs of people living in rural, regional and remote areas.

 Grant Background:  The Individual Capacity Building Program aims to ensure:

  • People with disability have the skills and confidence to participate and contribute to the community and protect their rights through an increase in:
    • skills and capacity
    • motivation, confidence and empowerment to act
    • participation and contribution to community.
  • Disabled Peoples Organisations (DPOs) and Families Organisations (FOs) are strengthened in their capability to deliver services for people with a disability through:
    • improving the organisation’s capacity and ability to deliver the organisation’s mission and Information, Linkages and Capacity Building in the community.

Brain Cancer Survivorship Grant Opportunity

Grant Background:  There are no known prevention measures for brain cancer and for some types of brain cancer, no effective treatments. It is widely recognised that the key to improvements in this area is investment in research.

The objective of the 2019 Brain Cancer Survivorship Grant Opportunity is:

  • to support the development of better approaches to address the medical, functional and psychosocial impacts of brain cancer to improve quality of life and the survivorship experience.

Survivorship must be focused on children, adolescents and young adults, or adults with malignant brain cancer, their families or carers.

Areas of focus may include:

  • medical, functional and psychosocial impacts of brain cancer – for example: cognitive, executive and memory impairment; fatigue; behavioural issues; seizures or toxicities of anticonvulsants; and fitness to drive
  • impact on survivors, their families and carers – for example: anxiety and depression; and long-term impacts including economic impact
  • efficacy of new or existing models of care and interventions, including the factors that contribute to success – for example: efficacy of new or existing models of care which involve nurse care coordinators, and components of the care model which contribute to success; and impact of rural and remote patient locality on effectiveness of survivorship clinics.

The intended outcomes of this grant opportunity are to develop:

  • a better understanding of the effects and impact of symptoms on quality and quantity of life, independence, function and disability
  • develop new care models that improve the experience of survivors, their families and carers.

Rural, Regional & Remote Clinical Trial Enabling Infrastructure Grant

Funder:  Federal – Health

Grant Background:  The 2019 Rural, Regional and Remote Clinical Trial Enabling Infrastructure grant opportunity focuses on new and innovative approaches to enhancing and improving clinical trial infrastructure (including facilities, research equipment, systems and services) – by extending existing or providing new clinical trials into rural, regional and remote areas.

The objectives of the grant opportunity are:

  • improved facilities, equipment, services and systems in rural, regional and remote Australia
  • improved quality of care and health outcomes for patients through quicker and easier access to medical treatments, drugs, therapies and devices, through participation in clinical trials
  • reduced burden, costs and risks for patients and their families related to clinical trial participation
  • increased research capacity, including linkages, leveraging and enhancements of existing local and national structures, organisations, facilities and/or workforce, with flow-on effects to broader health services.

The intended outcome of the grant opportunity is improved access to clinical trials by Australians living in rural, regional and remote areas of Australia.

Visions of Australia Rnd 10

Funder:  Federal – Communications

Grant Background: The objectives of the Visions of Australia Program are to:

  • increase access for Australian audiences to exhibitions of quality Australian arts and cultural material, with a particular focus on regional and remote Australia
  • encourage partnerships between organisations such as museums and galleries, particularly collaboration across the collections sector, to form curatorial partnerships and where appropriate, access to mentoring and skills transfer opportunities

Funding is delivered through two streams: development or touring, supporting costs such as research, design, production, transport, installation and personnel.

Funding is available through annual or multiyear funding agreements subject to available funds.
