  • Ideas Grants will provide $50,000 for one year.
  • Proof-of-Concept Grants will provide funding of up to $120,000 for one year.
  • Innovation Grants will provide funding of between $300,000 to $1.1 million per year for a maximum of 3 years.

This grant opportunity will run through a 2-part process.

You can express interest in an Innovation Grant, Proof-of-Concept Grant, or an Ideas Grant. You may submit more than one application.  The EOI process will be used to move applications into the most appropriate funding stream to support merit worthy proposals of varying scale and development, and to manage risks.

If your proposal is assessed as suitable in the EOI process for an Innovation Grant or a Proof-of-Concept Grant, you will be invited to apply for these through a targeted competitive grant round.

Future Drought Fund: Drought Resilience Research and Adoption Program – Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs

Funder:  Federal – Agriculture

Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting applications to deliver services under the Future Drought Fund: Drought Resilience Research and Adoption Program – Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs (Hubs).

This program will establish eight regionally-focused Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs. The Hubs will be located in regional areas that reflect the key agricultural and climatic zones across the country. The regions targeted are:

  • Southern NSW
  • Southern QLD/Northern NSW
  • South-West WA

Ground Cover Confinement Feeding

Funder:  NSW – Local Land Services

Grant Background: The ground cover incentive project will assist landholders to prevent degradation of natural resources by ensuring that adequate ground cover is maintained across their property during periods of drought and adverse seasonal conditions.

The project provides training and financial assistance to land managers to construct farm infrastructure (confinement feeding areas) that will improve grazing management and ground cover outcomes.

Confinement feeding areas are carefully selected spaces set up to hold, feed and water livestock at high stocking rates. These areas enable maintenance or improvement of ground cover levels and reduce environmental degradation.

Funding is available to contribute towards the construction of confinement feeding areas. The following activities can be funded: Water troughs, pipe and fittings, fencing materials, non-portable feeders, shade cloth shelters and trees (other infrastructure may be approved upon application and negotiation with LLS staff).
