Future Drought Fund: Drought Resilient Soils and Landscapes Grants Program

Funder:  Federal – Agriculture

Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting applicants/organisations for the Future Drought Fund: Drought Resilient Soils and Landscapes Grants Program.

The objective of the program is to trial and demonstrate how scaling of particular practices (or combinations of practices) to improve management of natural capital can build drought resilience.

Through this, the program aims to create and communicate an evidence base and case studies that contribute to scaling out the successful practices.

Networks to Build Drought Resilience

Grant Background: The Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund provides a sustainable source of funding to help remote, rural and regional communities, and farmers, become more prepared for, and resilient to, the impacts of drought. The Fund is part of the Government’s Drought Response, Resilience and Preparedness Plan.

The Networks to Build Drought Resilience Program is one of the Fund’s foundation programs. It is designed to build community capacity by strengthening social and community networking, support, engagement and wellbeing.

The aim is to build an enduring resilience to the impacts of climate change, drought, and enhance the public good in agriculture-dependent communities.

Future Drought Fund – Drought Resilience Innovation Expression of Interest (EOI) and Grants Program

Funder:  Federal – Agriculture

Grant Background: The Future Drought Fund – Drought Resilience Innovation Expression of Interest (EOI) and Grants Program has 3 grant types available:

  • Ideas Grants will provide $50,000 for one year.
  • Proof-of-Concept Grants will provide funding of up to $120,000 for one year.
  • Innovation Grants will provide funding of between $300,000 to $1.1 million per year for a maximum of 3 years.

This grant opportunity will run through a 2-part process.

You can express interest in an Innovation Grant, Proof-of-Concept Grant, or an Ideas Grant. You may submit more than one application.  The EOI process will be used to move applications into the most appropriate funding stream to support merit worthy proposals of varying scale and development, and to manage risks.

If your proposal is assessed as suitable in the EOI process for an Innovation Grant or a Proof-of-Concept Grant, you will be invited to apply for these through a targeted competitive grant round.

Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme

Funder:  NSW – Rural Assistance Authority (RAA)

Grant Background: The Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate (EWIR) scheme is designed to support NSW primary producers to invest in drought-proofing infrastructure to build resilience now and in future dry periods.

The rebate provides eligible primary producers access to a 25 per cent rebate on purchases, delivery and if applicable, the labour cost to engage a person to install water infrastructure for animal welfare needs or drought resilience.

Applicants completing new works will have three months from approval of their application to complete the proposed works and provide invoices to the RAA to claim the rebate.

The program is designed to build strong social connectedness, strengthen social capital, and support transformative activities that enable regional communities to be more prepared for, and resilient to, the impacts of drought.
