Women’s Leadership Development – Lead & Succeed

Funder:  Federal – Prime Minister & Cabinet

Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting applications for grant funding under the Women’s Leadership and Development Program Lead and Succeed grant opportunity. Funding will support projects that address the structural and systemic barriers that impede women’s employment and progression into leadership; create an environment for women to achieve professional success; and support women to access leadership roles.

Projects that target women living in regional, rural and remote areas, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, older women, women with disability and women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, are encouraged.

Projects should be delivered on a national scale, or be scalable to have a national impact and/or reach. Applications from consortia are also encouraged.

Build Resilient Regional Leaders

Funder:  Federal – Infrastructure

Grant Background: The Building Resilient Regional Leaders Initiative (Pilot) provides funding to support current and emerging regional leaders to further develop their leadership and resilience skills, enabling them to become strong local voices who can help sustain regional Australia’s recovery from COVID-19, bushfires and other crises, and contribute to their region’s long-term resilience.

 The program will:

  • deliver place-based leadership training to support current and emerging regional leaders to develop leadership and resilience skills
  • facilitate the development of networks between current and emerging regional leaders, mentors and other experts where appropriate to help maximise the impacts of the training over the long-term
  • provide participants with opportunities and techniques to develop deeper connections within their regions.

Grant Background: The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award is Australia’s leading award empowering and celebrating the inclusive and courageous leadership of women involved in Australia’s rural and emerging industries, businesses, and communities, now and into the future.

AgriFutures Australia is committed to the future growth and advancement of the Award as a means of identifying, celebrating and empowering women.  Each State and Territory Winner receives a bursary for their project, business or program, access to professional development opportunities and alumni networks.

AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant

Funder:  AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant

Grant Background: The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant program complements the Rural Women’s Award process and aims to provide a leadership and development opportunity to women who are not quite ready to apply for the Award.

Seven Australian women per annum will be granted with a learning and development bursary for professional development to enable them to bring their idea, cause or vision to life.

Boosting the Next Generation of Women in STEM

Funder:  Federal – Industry

Grant Background: The Boosting the Next Generation of Women in STEM program will provide funding to a single delivery partner to manage 500 university scholarships to women who are re-training, seeking higher qualifications, or undertaking study after a break from either study or the workforce.

Applicants should demonstrate how their project will:

  • increase participation of women in STEM tertiary education to increase re-training, seeking higher qualifications, or undertaking study
  • support women to build skillsets sought by industry to foster the next wave of mentors and role-models, and support re-entry into the workforce
  • increase in the number of women in senior leadership and decision making positions in government, research organisations, industry and businesses.

Building Better Regions Fund – Community Investments Stream – Round 5

Funder:  Federal – Infrastructure

Grant Background: The $1.04 billion Building Better Regions Fund supports the Australian Government’s commitment to:

  • drive economic growth
  • build stronger regional communities into the future.

The Community Investments Stream will fund new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.

For most projects grant funding will be up to either 50% or 75% of your eligible project costs. Your location will determine the percentage of grant funding you can receive.

Your project will need to deliver economic and social benefits to a regional or remote community.

Women’s Leadership and Development Program Project Grants

Funder:  Federal – Prime Minister & Cabinet

Grant Background: The Australian Government is inviting entities to apply for grant funding under the Women’s Leadership and Development Program (WLDP) Project Grants to deliver a range of projects specifically for Australian women.

Additional funding over 2020-21 to 2023-24 was announced in the 2020-21 Budget as part of the 2020 Women’s Economic Security Statement to expand the WLDP to introduce a new women’s job creation priority area and boost existing priority areas.

The objective of the WLDP is to improve outcomes for Australian women in six key focus areas: women’s job creation; women’s economic security; women’s workforce participation; women’s leadership; women’s safety; and international engagement.

Young Farmer Business Programme

Funder:  NSW – Primary Industry

Grant Background: The Young Farmer Business Program is making grants of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) available to eligible groups across NSW. It will provide grants to groups who support young farmers and fishers to undertake training related to business and leadership development.

Activities should be targeting at least one of the following outcomes for young farmers and fishers:

  • knowledge and skills to improve social and business resilience;
  • knowledge and skills to manage risk;
  • knowledge and skills to execute effective plans;
  • knowledge and skills to make decisions that ensure the viability of their agricultural/fishing businesses;
  • access to new business ideas, tools and techniques; AND/OR
  • connect to other farmers/fishers and opportunities that enable entry and/or expansion of agricultural/fishing businesses;

What can we use the money for?

  • All costs associated with organising a project for young farmers or fishers to undertake activities related to business and leadership development.
  • Examples of projects include (but are not limited to) farm tours, commercial fishing business tours, workshops, events, business skills coaching, training, guest speakers.

Highways and Byways 2019 Small Grants Program

Funder:  Missionary Sisters of Service

Grant Background:  Grants of up to $3 000 are available for community groups or organisations that demonstrate they are addressing the relief of social and economic distress, and geographical disadvantage, through locally led action.

Applications that assist people and communities to address disadvantage and inequality through embracing the potential of local women to develop skills, confidence, capacities and leadership between generations and within their communities, are encouraged.
