Her Sport Her Way

Funder:  NSW – Sport

Grant Background: The Her Sport Her Way Grant Program provides more than $2.5 million over four years to assist NSW State Sporting Organisations to develop and deliver new initiatives to increase participation of women and girls in sport, on and off the field, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.

The grant program provides opportunities to explore new ways of doing things, and to test new ideas. It will provide a platform to drive powerful change for women and girls.

Program objectives:

  • Increase the number of women and girls playing sport and improve the retention of adolescent girls
  • Increase the number of women in leadership positions both on and off the field
  • Improve gender inclusive sporting cultures and environments

Greater Cities Sports Facility Fund

Funder:  NSW – Sport 

Grant Background: The NSW Government has committed $50 million to the Greater Cities Sport Facility Fund over two-years, helping create spaces and facilities that enable communities to enjoy and take part in sport.

The Fund will:

  • assist eligible organisations to develop quality core sport infrastructure that will meet the current and future needs of the community.
  • support the development of well-designed and utilised new and improved sport infrastructure projects that can directly impact and support participation and performance opportunities in sports at all levels.
  • focus on sporting facilities that deliver the best outcomes for the community. It will ensure that the best possible value for money is achieved.

The key objectives of the Fund are to:

  • increase the number and type of sporting facilities;
  • improve the standard of existing sporting facilities;
  • increase participation in sport.

Infrastructure Grants

Funder:  NSW – Office of Responsible Gambling

Grant Background:  The NSW Government offers grants to communities across NSW to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure. Funding is available for arts and cultural infrastructure, sport and recreation infrastructure and projects that assist communities with essential infrastructure and disaster readiness.

Infrastructure Grants can be used toward the costs of construction, alteration, renovation, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure in the following categories:

  • Arts & Culture: up to $200,000 per project
  • Community Infrastructure: up to $200,000 per project
  • Disaster Readiness: up to $200,000 per project
  • Sport & Recreation: up to $300,000 per project

Infrastructure Grants

Funder:  NSW – Office of Responsible Gambling

Grant Background:  The NSW Government offers grants to communities across NSW to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure. Funding is available for arts and cultural infrastructure, sport and recreation infrastructure and projects that assist communities with essential infrastructure and disaster readiness.

Infrastructure Grants are made possible through the NSW Government’s Clubgrants Category 3 Fund, which reinvests a contribution from the state’s registered clubs gaming machine profits back into community projects.

They will give priority to bushfire affected communities, to assist in the recovery efforts. This means these communities will be prioritised in funding decisions.

Infrastructure Grants can be used toward the costs of construction, alteration, renovation, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure in the following areas:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Disaster Readiness & Community Infrastructure
  • Sport & Recreation

Surf Club Facility Programme

Funder:  NSW – Sport

Grant Background: The Surf Club Facility Programme assists Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout NSW to develop their facilities to increase the usage, safety and participation in Surf Life Saving and at Surf Life Saving facilities used by the general public and/or Surf Life Saving Club members.

Funding is prioritised in line with:

  • The Premier’s Priorities
  • The Office of Sport strategic plan and priorities and
  • Surf Life Saving NSW strategic plan
  • Support for areas affected by severe drought and the 2019/20 bushfires within NSW

Program Objectives:

  • Participation: Increase the usage and/or participant numbers in Surf Life Saving
  • Access:Increase the use of the Surf Life Saving facilities by community groups and/or the general public
  • Safety:Improve safety at Surf Life Saving facilities

Local Sport Grant Programme

Funder:  NSW – Sport

Grant Background: The $4.6 million Local Sport Grant Program aims to increase regular and ongoing participation opportunities in sport and active recreation in NSW.

This year’s program has been established to:

  • target opportunities specifically for women and girls
  • overall participation opportunities
  • support local communities affected by drought.

The Local Sports Grant funding is available across all electorates in NSW.

There are four project types within the Program:

  1. Sport Development
  2. Community Sport Events
  3. Sport Access
  4. Facility Development.

The overall objectives of the Program are to:

  • Increase regular and on-going participation in sport or structured physical activity.
  • Address barriers to participation in sport or structured physical activity.
  • Assist sport clubs provide quality service to their members.
  • Increase the number of well-managed facilities that meet the needs of users.
